Now, Let’s Talk About Me.
My name is Natalie DeFruscio! I am a current illustration student at Temple University in Philadelphia. Before Temple, I spent three years as an illustration major and art therapy minor at the University of The Arts until the school’s closure. I have appeared in The New York Times, Fox29 News, and WHYY’s Studio 2 which focused on the closure of UArts. I also have permanent art installments at The Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia and most recently my class was commissioned for a piece for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Through my job at Cork and Candles in University City, we partnered with Visit Philly to make a welcome basket for Sabrina Carpenter when she came to Philly during her Short ‘N Sweet Tour. I helped design a custom label to put on a candle for them.
I work mostly in gouache, and my pieces are often bold and colorful. I occasionally dabble in digital art using Procreate and doing things such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) using various software types. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums of art such as ceramics and candle making.
